THE STORY BEHIND MELLOW MINDS SHAMPOO BAR

The foundation for Mellow Mind's hair care line and some of our best-selling products – Hydrating & Balancing Shampoo Bar – was laid four years ago when our founder, Maria, went into the kitchen to solve a personal need:

"I needed a hair and scalp product that could help me when I started getting the first stubborn and coarse gray hairs. I've always had thick, long hair, but it became sad to look at and the texture changed quickly."

With this in mind, Maria began experimenting with organic and nourishing ingredients and tested many variants – a lot of hair was washed, and countless samples were created to ensure the uncompromising effect that is at the core of Mellow Mind's approach to product development.

The goal was to develop a shampoo bar that both men and women could use, adding lots of moisture and shine to the lengths, while nourishing and balancing the scalp. Maria also wanted to create a sustainable alternative to traditional bottled shampoo by creating a solid bar without unnecessary packaging.

After many trials and tweaks, our Hydrating Shampoo Bar was created – one of the bars that many of you know and love today, and which encapsulates Mellow Mind's mission of natural and effective hair care.

MELLOW MINDS SHAMPOO BARS – THREE VARIANTS FOR DIFFERENT NEEDS

After cracking the code for a shampoo bar with just the right consistency and effect, Maria developed three unique shampoo bars, each addressing specific hair and scalp needs:

HYDRATING SHAMPOO BAR - GERANIUM

For those with dry or damaged hair, our Hydrating Shampoo Bar is the ideal solution. With a soothing scent of organic geranium, this shampoo bar deeply nourishes and rebuilds the hair. The combination of organic avocado oil, vitamin B5 and oat protein nourishes both hair and scalp, leaving hair soft, moisturized and shiny.

The mild floral scent of geranium is neither too feminine nor overpowering, and the antibacterial properties help create a clean and fresh experience during hair washing. This pH-balanced shampoo bar is also suitable for the Curly Girl method, as it is based on mild, sulfate-free washing active substances, and it is 100% vegan and plastic-free.

BALANCING SHAMPOO BAR - PEPPER MINT + TEA TREE OIL

Mellow Minds Balancing Shampoo Bar is designed to provide a deep cleansing and nourishing experience, especially for those with oily hair and an irritated scalp. It contains green clay, peppermint and tea tree oil, which effectively balance the hair's natural oil production and absorb excess oil. The combination of moisturizing, organic oils and proteins leaves hair silky soft, shiny and strengthened.

The fresh scent of peppermint and tea tree essential oils provides a cooling and refreshing feeling and has antibacterial properties. At the same time, blood circulation in the scalp is stimulated, which promotes healthy hair growth and a soothed scalp.

Like our Hydrating Shampoo Bar, the Balancing Shampoo Bar is pH-balanced, plastic-free and vegan, making it suitable for the Curly Girl method and ensuring a gentle, sulfate-free wash.

NEUTRAL SHAMPOO BAR - UNSCENTED

For those who prefer a fragrance-free shampoo bar or who have sensitive and irritated scalps, Mellow Mind offers our gentle and nourishing Neutral Shampoo Bar. Ideal for the whole family and all hair types, this bar contains moisturizing organic oils and proteins that soothe the scalp and leave hair silky soft and shiny. The Neutral Shampoo Bar is especially suitable for those with perfume allergies or those who prefer unscented products.

All of our shampoo bars are pH balanced and developed with mild, yet active and effective ingredients that are suitable for all hair types.

All of our shampoo bars contain carefully selected ingredients that both nourish and protect hair and scalp:

• Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate : A mild detergent derived from vegetable coconut oil that gently cleanses the hair without irritating the scalp.
• Vitamin B5 : Known for its regenerating effect, B5 helps retain moisture in the hair and protects both the hair and scalp.
• Hydrolyzed Oat Protein : This natural protein, extracted from oats, softens and adds shine to the hair, while revitalizing dull and dry hair.
• Organic Avocado Oil : Rich in vitamins A and E as well as oleic acid and monounsaturated fats that penetrate deep into the hair shaft and nourish it.
