Maria's Story - Our Vision

For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to aesthetic products, especially hair and skin care. I have incredibly sensitive skin myself and have tested many different brands. At first I was drawn to beautiful designer soaps and aesthetic packaging in the right colors, but I missed more transparency and knowledge about the ingredients used and listed on the back of the products.
As a consumer, I found that the ingredients often felt very opaque.
I have a background from the design industry and have worked with brand identity, product development and management in both Denmark and China for many years.
It was during my time in China that I was introduced to a more holistic approach to life, including yoga and gua sha massage, which today has merged into both my private and professional life.
Years ago, I experienced a lack of a product that could help me when I myself was faced with the first stubborn and coarse gray hairs after a long period of stress. So I went to the kitchen to experiment with creating a solid shampoo bar for myself. After a long process of recipe development and my uncompromising approach to choosing raw materials, I cracked the code for the right formula. Friends and family subsequently brought home stacks of shampoo bars, and suddenly it took off with design markets and carefully selected retailers at home and abroad.
The foundation for Mellow Mind was laid with our popular shampoo bars and hand soaps with simple and honest ingredients in aesthetic packaging. Since then, our product portfolio has grown in line with demand and my constant desire for new knowledge within hair care. The products in our range reflect a lifestyle for me, where the foundation is honest and clean products in good quality, which add something delicious to everyday life.
As the founder of Mellow Mind, I see it as my most important task to break down myths and misconceptions about hair care, and guide you to the best possible care for your hair. I want to sell my customers products that they experience work. That's why we always offer honest advice based on your individual starting point and needs.
I really like the slow pace of the process, and sometimes I also pause the development if my gut feeling is not right. One of my core values for Mellow Mind is not to work at the fast pace of the industry with many annual new launches and seasonal or trend-driven collections. My guiding principle is always to make products that I cannot do without and that fill a need for myself or for someone in my circle of friends – over time, it is also based on our community's feedback and demand. In this way, I ensure that my company only develops and produces the best products with honest ingredients that I can vouch for.
Kind regards, Maria Grønborg, Founder of Mellow Mind
